Serum amylase and prothrombin time.

Ultrasound first. MRCP. CT scan.

Proton pump inhibitor or H2 receptor blocker.
Symptoms of short bowel syndrome?
Diarrhoea, weight loss, dehydration.
If a patient is in shock what would you administer?
Give high flow O2, give IV colloid, send bloods and cross match for blood.
What can cause low volume rectum bleeding?
Internal haemorrhoids. Anal fissure.
What can cause high volume rectum bleeding?
Upper GI bleeding, diverticular disease.
What tests to investigate per rectum bleeding?
Oesophago-Gastro-Duodenoscopy, colonoscopy and CT angiogram.
