If both Air Compressors on a 3 car unit fail, will the train still maintain Main Reservoir Pressure through the Main Reservoir Pipe?
Yes
(Main Reservoir Pipe is train-lined)
When do both Air Compressors operate simultaneously?
Main Reservoir Pressure falls below 650kpa
What fault light illuminates when Main Reservoir Pressure drops below 650kpa?
Low Pressure in Main Reservoir Fault Light
What should a driver do when Main Reservoir Pressure is between 750kpa and 580kpa?
- Book TMM
- Continue as normal (monitor MR pressure)
If the Air Compressors aren’t running, what should the driver do?
Train Stable
If Main Reservoir Air Leak is detected under Centre Cabs, what should the driver do?
- Attempt to plug the leak
If that doesn’t work:
- Isolate Main Reservoir Cocks
- Drain Auxiliary Reservoir
- Manually release the Spring Park Brakes (AX Key)
- Book TMM
- Operate under Isolated Bogie Speeds
If Main Reservoir Air Leak is detected under Non Centre Cabs, what should the driver do?
- Attempt to plug the leak
If that doesn’t work:
- Declare the Train Disabled
If the TRIP FAILS TO LOWER, the driver should?
- TEC call, RTA, Modified Cab Unattended
- Check Auxiliary Pneumatic Panel (Trip Cock Active)
If cock is closed:
- OPEN COCK and continue as normal
If cock is open:
1. Raise Trip
2. Use Emergency Auto Vigilance Button (isolate VICERS)
3. Book TMM
If the TRIP FAILS TO RAISE, the driver should?
In Lead Cab:
1. Continue as normal
2. Book TMM
In Trailing Cab:
1. RTA (if required)
2. Full Cab Unattended
3. Isolate Trip Cock Active (Auxiliary Pneumatic Panel)
4. Secure Trip in Raised position (Tie it up)
5. Book TMM
If the TRIP FAILS TO RESET, the driver should?
- Ensure the are no FAULT LIGHTS
- RTA (if required)
- Modified Cab Unattended
- MANUALLY RESET TRIP (Spring Loaded Button on the Trip)
If set:
1. Continue as normal
If not set:
1. Check TRIP COCK RESET (Auxiliary Pneumatic Panel)
If cock is closed:
1. OPEN and Reset Trip
If cock is open:
1. Raise Trip
2. Use EMERGENCY AUTO VIGILANCE BUTTON (isolate VICERS)
3. Book TMM
