Q

How does anti-biotic resistance happens?

A
  • Bacteria may develop random mutations in their DNA which Change characteristics.
  • Result in the bacteria being Resistance to antibiotics.
  • The antibiotics kill most of the bacteria however the resistance ones survives.
  • Resistant bacteria reproduces without competition from other bacteria and all these bacteria has the gene for antibiotic resistance.

Q

What happens if a new antibiotic is formed?

A
  • Kill the Bacteria.
  • Occasionally: some bacteria may gain resistance to the different type of antibiotic and will reproduce.
  • This process repeats until bacteria is resistance to lots of different antibiotics.
  • SUPERBUGS.
    E.g: MRSA.
