Blocks:
A
- Anesthetizes the palmar/plantar digital nerves innervating the palmar/plantar ( heel) aspect of the foot
- so not the whole foot ( just the caudal heel )

- Blocks: fetlock joint and below ( blocks medial and lateral palmar nerves, medial and lateral palmar metacarpal nerves, cutaneous sensation )

Blocks:

metacarpal region….. EXCEPT FOR: the origin of the suspensory ligament, inferior check ligament of DDF and the proximal splints and cannon

Palmar - on the sides of the flexor tenons
MC - in the junction between the cannon bone and splints

Injection site:
A
- injection site: 4 inches above the fetlock, under the buttons of the splints

- uses: fetlock joint, collateral ligament strain, sesamoiditis, proximal sesamoid fracture, p1 fx, condylar fx (MC3 - cannon bone)

- Injection site: abaxial sides at distal end of proximal sesamoids

- Uses: pastern joint ( synovitis, DJD), Pastern area lesion, coffin joint lesion, toe of foot lesion, heel lesion

- injection site - level of the pastern joint (btwn P1 + P2) , above the ungual cartilage

- Uses: shoeing, sole bruising, thrush- infection of the central and lateral sulcus of the frog, navicular disease/ fx, palmar fracture (p3), coffin joint problems
