What is frostbite?
Occurs from extreme cold temperatures. Results in freezing of the skin and underlying tissues. Will start out very cold and red, then numb hard and pale.
What is frostnip?
It is a mild form of frostbite, causing redness, and some irritation to the skin, also causes a cold feeling followed by some numbness.
What is trench foot?
Caused from exposure to wet and unsanitary conditions to the feet that is always cold wet and damp.
What is deep frostbite?
Frostbite that effects all layers of the skin, even the tissues below.
What is heat stroke?
From exposure to excessive high temperatures, beyond body’s ability to regulate, most serious heat related illness, can result in death.
What is heat exhaustion?
Caused by hypovolemia that results from dehydration from heavy sweating, most common serious heat related illness.
