Sepsis symptoms
fast breathing feeling unwell skin rash feeling very hot or cold fast heartbeat feeling confused not passing much urine weakness or aching muscles
CAT 4 Bed Allocation
Fast track
- does not need bed, will be fine in chair
FAST TRACK NURSE
Nurse taking over care will do a primary assessment on the patient.
Ask- Why have you presented to emergency?
Conduct vital signs.
gather medical hx, child hood immunisations up to date?

Enquire about the pain: location, when did it start?, continuous or
intermittent, nature of the pain (stabbing, burning, ache),
radiating?, tender on palpation?, abdomen distended?
Any trouble with bowels or urine?

- RESUSCITATION ROOM

Nurse taking over care will do a primary assessment on the patient.

INTERVENTIONS
- clean wound with normal saline, make sure no foreign body (gravel)
- dress wound with basic wound dressing
- offer paracetamol
- ask if tetanus up to date? may need ADT
- D/C home after checking with EDMO
