Keep ear dry
Microsuction of pus

  • bulging eardrum, discharge if perforated
  • inflammed eardrum
  • hearing loss
  • recent URTI symptoms

Otoscopy

  • bulging eardrum => light reflex lost
  • red eardrum
  • discharge

URTIs spread to middle ear via auditory tube
-S pneumoniae, H influenza, M catarrhalis
