Q

Differences in presentation between PD and APD

A

APD

  • initially bilateral signs
  • faster progression of symptoms
  • loss of dopamine receptors
  • normal gait
  • wheelchair sign - darting out of wheelchair without thinking about safety

PD

  • initially unilateral signs
  • loss of dopamine
  • football gait pattern
