  • otitis media
  • sinusitis
  • mastoiditis

Recent internal infection
-heart, lung, skin, abdo, pelvic

Infection via bloodstream more likely in IC

  • HIV
  • chemo
  • immunosuppressed?

Infection after head trauma
-fracture, wounds

Infection after recent surgery

  • dental
  • head surgery
  • valve, implants

Recent travel and vaccinations
