To whom does the battalion chief with the vacancy make their recommendation on how to fill the vacancy?
Assistant Chief of Operations
What are the 6 criteria considered by the battalion chief when determining their recommendation to fill a vacancy?
- Certifications

What are 2 main purposes in allowing personnel to ride-up?
- To fill temporarily minimum staffing vacant spots
2. Give experience to personnel that desire to someday permanently fill a higher ranking position
How will ride-ups generally be handled?
If the captain is off then the driver of that apparatus will ride-up to captain, the firefighter of that apparatus will ride-up to driver, the rover will fill in the firefighter position
What is the exception for the Truck 1 driver position?
If the truck 1 driver is off the driver from the engine may move over
When can a driver move from the medic over?
When the driver up the engine does not want to ride up as captain when approved by the battalion chief with approval of the assistant chief of operations
What is another exception to ride-ups?
Drivers and/or firefighters that are not eligible to move-up
