Q

Diffusion of Oxygen:

A
  • Cells need oxygen for respiration which is carried out by the mitochondria.
  • The concentration of oxygen is higher outside of the cell as it is being transported in the blood from the lungs.
  • The concentration is lower outside of the cell.
Travels from an area of high concentration to low concentration.

Q

Diffusion of Carbon Dioxide:

A
  • Respiration produces the waste gas of carbon dioxide.
  • Higher concentration of co2 inside of the cell then outside of the cell.
  • ## Co2 moves out of the cell by diffusion.

Diffusion of Urea:

A
  • Waste product produced in cells.
-Diffuses out of the cell into the blood plasma and is excreted by the kidneys.

Q

What is the difference in concentration called?

A
  • Concentration Gradient.

- Greater the concentration Gradient= faster diffusion takes place.
