Acne Rosacea
A condition of sebaceous glands characterized by comedones and pus filled cyst (esp adolecents)
Acne Vulgaris
Sun spot, liver spot. The MC benign sun induced lesion
Acntinic Lenugo
A pitted erythematous lesion or ulcer in the mouth
Aphthous stomatitis
We call it carload of furuncles. Same organism and lesion location as furuncle
Carbuncle
Accumulation of sebum within pore. Whitehead; closed (comedo). Blackhead; open
Comedone
A non-tender epidermal cyst that filled with sebum
Epidermal cyst
Organism is BETA HEMOLYTIC STREP. Presents as red fiery, advancing lesion on the skin. Patient will have FEVER and ELEVATED ASO titer
Erysepelas
A skin reaction usually associated with STREP characterized by BILATERAL, red, tender nodules
Erythema Nodosum
Any surface injury to the skin

Increased karatinization producing a non inflammatory skin lesion
Ichthyosis AKA fish skin
Organism maybe staph or strep. Crusty lesion found around the corner of mouth or on the hands in children
Impetigo
MC organism that cause impetigo
Strep
Reddened area caused by moisture, friction, warmth retention found on opposing skin surfaces
Intertrigo
A dense, sharply elevated, progressively enlarging scar with collagenous hyperplasia seen in African-American, Asian, Latinos
Keloid
Rough and thick skin due to constant scratching of pruritic chronic dermatitis
Lichenification
An inflmmatory pruritic disease characterized by papules with shiny fine inconspicuous SCALES and whitish line or puncta
Lichen planus
A discrete coin shaped, ring or annular lesion that coalesce to form patches which ooze and crust over
Nummular Eczema
Tender bacterial or fungal hand infection or foot infection where the nail and skin meet at the side
Paronychia
Caused by LICE. Lesion sites: pubic area, body (Corporis), Head (Capitus)
Pediculosis
Potentially life threatening condition exhibiting bulla (blisters) on the skin
Pemphigus vulgaris
Exhibits a characteristic oval/ round lesion called HERRALD PATCH. Caused by virus
Pityriasis Rosea
Silver scales on extensor surface of knees and elbow
Psoriasis
A transmissible (whirlpool) infection caused by mites and characterized by grouped vesicles and superficial linear furrows in the groin
Scabbies
Dandruff similar to “craddle cap” in newborn
Seborrheic Dermatitis
Hives described as wheal due to an allergy such as penicillin or food allergy
Urticaria
An auto-immune condition characterized by depigmentation (absent of melanocytes) after development
Vitiligo
Complete depigmentation (lack of melanin) of the body first observed at birth
Albinism
Organism is candida albicans. Oral is called thrush
Yeast infection
Most common skin cancer, waxy and indurated
Basal cell
Malignant tumor of epithelial cell (irregular and flaky)
Squamous cell
Most invasive cancer, multicolored

Premalignant condition of the skin caused by sun exposure
