What are the accessory organs of the digestive system?

What is the alimentary tract?
The passage which food travels (from mouth to anus).
What does the term buccal mean?
The term buccal refers to the cheeks.
Define the cardiac sphincter?
The sphincter that regulates the amount of ingesta that enters the stomach.
What is diaphragmatic fascia?
Fascia that is present on the diaphragm.
Define endo-thoracic fascia?
The fascia that is present on the inside of the thoracic cavity.
What are flank incisions?
Incisions that are made in front of the hindlimb in order to access the abdominal cavity.
What is a food bolus?
Food that has been processed in the mouth, but has not yet been swallowed.
What is the gastrosplenic ligament?
The part of the greater omentum that is present between the spleen and the stomach.
Define the greater omentum?
The mesentery that connects to the greater curvature of the stomach and it is located on the floor of the abdominal cavity.

Food that has been swallowed.

The mesentery associated with the duodenum.

The location where the oesophagus passes through the diaphragm.

The process of accessing the oesophagus to remove an obstruction.

The space that lies between the teeth and the lips.

The transverse ridges that line the surface of the hard palate.
