What is achievement motivation?
Desire with which competition is approached, this can be either a personality trait or developed
Atkinson categorised achievement motivation into two, describe NACH and NAF
NACH: need to achieve, welcome competition and feedback, take risks and like a challenge, persistent after failure
NAF: need to avoid failure, avoid competition, take the easy option, give up easily and don’t take responsibility for their actions
What are the effects of confidence?

How is a person benefitted from self esteem?
Reduced anxiety Optimism Fewer interpersonal problems Less chance of social pressure More likely to have effective DRs
How is a lack of self esteem detrimental?
