What are the three models that explain the cultural differences in time perception. Describe each and explain the kind of culture that would use each

A

1) Linear-Separable Model: used by developed countries: assumptions are: There is a distinct past, present and future. Time invested today will pay off in the future and tomorrow brings the opportunity for something
2) Procedural-Traditional model: Artisans subscribed to this model: considered the actual step, event, project more important than the time spent on completion and focuses on one’s staying power and attention to quality
3) Cultural-Traditional model: Used by underprivileged cultures: Assumptions are, emphasises the repetitive nature of time, expects that the past and future will look very similar and a fairly monotonous perspective with little hope or expectation for improvement
