Define decisions
conclusions or judgements about some issue or matter
Define decision-making
The process of making a choice between two or more alternatives
Define decision-making style and describe what it is affected by
The characteristic way a person makes decisions which are affected by individuals values, knowledge, ability, and motivation
What are the 6 steps of a decision plan and what is the pneumonic for it
DECIDE
1) Define the decision
2) Estimate resources needed
3) Consider the alternatives
4) Imagine/explore possible consequences of alternative course of action
5) Develop an action plan and implement
6) Evaluate plan
Define pre purchase expectations
Beliefs about the anticipated performance of a product or service
Define post purchase dissonance
When a customer evaluates the product after they buy/consume it
Define self-ambivalence
The uncertainty or indecisiveness as to what course to follow because of a conflicted attitude towards the self
Define decision rules
the principles that guide decision making
Define reference group
individuals who influence an individual or provide guidance/advice
Define peter principle
the idea or concept that people are promoted beyond their level of competence
Define decidophobia
the fear of making decisions, specifically the fear of failure
Define intuition
a sense of knowing what to do without going through the rational process
Define the central satellite model
depicts a large decision in the centre, which prompts the necessity of many smaller decisions to follow
Give an example of the central satellite model
renovating a kitchen then deciding what countertops, cupboards, etc., to put in it
Describe the chain model
Starts with one key decision, which leads to a number of decisions that need to be completed in a particular order. Each step is reliant on the completion of the previous step
