he was an Ionian/Greek engineer. Darius built a bridge across the Bosphorus Strait so he could visit Mandrocles.
Megabazus
he was the Persian general to Darius, he was given the orders to conquer Thrace using Darius’s army.
Peisistratus
he was the leader of the group Men of the Hills, on of the groups of Solon’s reforms. In the words of Aristotle, he was “an extreme democrat.”
Royal Road
it was a road built by Darius to give himself easy access to Sardis. It stretched from Susa all the way into the Asia Minor.
Skudra
this was the name of the conquered land of Thrace that became a new Persian satrapy.
