Akrotiri
The large and only town on the island Thera. After a volcanic eruption it became a ring of land around a central inland sea.
Daedalus
A legendary architect, he designed the prison that Asterius was locked up in.
Fresco
Paintings created by laying bright colors made from carbon, yellow ochre, iron ore, and other minerals directly onto a damp layer of lime plaster.
Minotaur/Asterius
The baby Pasiphae gave birth to, after seeing the deformed child, Minos locked it up in the prison.
Knossos
A settlement inland from the very center of the northern coastline, and a strategic place from which to keep tabs on the east and west ends of the island.
The Labyrinth
A prison, which was designed by Daedalus, it was made up of so many passages no one could escape.
Minos
A powerful king who lived on Knossos. He was the stepson of a Cretan nobleman. Whatever he prayed for would be given to him by the gods.
Pasiphae
She was the wife of Minos, displeased with Minos’s greed, she was cursed with a lust for the bull.
Poseidon
He is the God of the Sea. He is also called Earthshaker, and the bull is his sacred animal.
Thera
An island that had an active volcano, the island was only quite large enough for Thera’s only large town, Akrotiri.
