  • self-sorting: je zoekt mensen op die hetzelfde zijn als jij.
  • soms ook doordat mensen zelf inner conflict hebben -> dan liever op anderen afreageren
  • door personal experience: maar dan vaak alleen letten op uitschieters
  • door de social roles van die personen, dan wordt het aangenomen als inner characteristic
  • one person = negative -> dan gelijk hele groep (salience!! we onthouden het extreme)
