  • Typically requires some configuration settings such as server names, username, password etc and possibly a token code generator.

  • Typically need a POP3 server name, username and password.
  • May also need to provide port numbers to be used for POP3 Typically this would be TCP/110(Non secure) or if using SSL( Secure Sockets Layer) encrypted you would use TCP/995 for POP3S
  • For configuring IMAP4 the process is pretty much the exact same however Non secure IMAP uses TCP/143 whereas IMAPS uses TCP/993 for SSL
