What does a CalFresh household consist of?
It is either an individual or a group of individuals who live to together that purchase and prepare meals together for consumption
What are restricted household members regardless of PNP together?
Restricted household members :
are married couples
children under 22 living with parents
minors under 18
borders,
disabled persons, 60 and over and unable to PNP together due to disability 
Children of parents residing in a drug alcohol treatment center 
Can a disabled person over 60 qualify as a separate household ?
Disabled over 60 person may qualify a separate household only if household members income is below the 165% federal poverty level 
Who are nonrestricted household members?
Roommates-unless they PNP together , live-in attendants,
other
Who are ineligible or excluded household members when qualifying for CalFresh?
 Social Security number disqualified
those who fail to meet able-bodied adult without dependence (ABAWD) work requirements
ineligible non-citizen,
fleeing felons, probation/parolee violators and/or
ineligible student
How are income expenses and resources counted in household that have a person whose Social Security number is disqualified ?
For SSN disqualified persons, income and expenses are prorated when determining benefit levels in the household.
Resources are counted entirely.
When a household with ABAWD individual is living there how is their income, expenses and resources counted?
Income and expenses are prorated, when determining benefit levels and resources are counted entirely.
How are households with an ineligible non-citizen’s income, expenses, and resources counted?
Income and expenses are prorated when determining benefits and resources are counted entirely 
How does a household income, expenses, and resources count when a fleeing felon, probation or parole violator lives in home?
Income, expenses and resources are counted ENTIRELY when fleeing felons, probation and or parole violators live in a household
How are in-eligible students’ income and resources counted in Cal fresh household?
In-eligible students will have their income and resources excluded from all calfresh household benefit levels
Can students be counted at any time in household when determining benefits?
Students will be excluded completely, unless they made a student exemption
Who are special household members?
There are four types of special household members:
There are foster care children,
residence of institutions,
strikers, and
homeless youth.
For special household member, foster care children how can they be counted?
They can either be excluded or included in the Cal fresh household at household request
If including foster care children in a special household how is funding counted?
The foster care allotment given to the foster parents must be included.
What are important things to remember when asking questions for people interested in Cal fresh benefits?
You must ask who the applicant is living with; restricted memhers, non restricted members, ineligible
if they purchase and prepare together
