What applications need to be processed for Expedited Services?
ALL applications must be screened form ES.
Does funds increase if they qualify for ES?
No, they do not.
How does a household qualify for ES?
*Household must have less than $150 gross income AND less than $100 in liquid resources OR
*Households gross income and resources are LESS THAN monthly housing and utilities (SUA, LUA, TUA) OR
*Migrant or seasonal farm worker households under $100 in liquid resources
How can household qualify for SUA?
Household MUST pay for heating/cooling when paying utilities to qualify
What is used to see if applicant qualifies for funds?
Must ONLY use household’s actual reported income and resources for the application MONTH.
How many days does ES need to be processed?
3 days
How are ES days counted to be processed?
*Day application turned in-DAY ZERO
*Weekends counted as ONE day
*Holidays are counted as ONE day
If application is turned in on day before Thanksgiving, what day does application need to be processed?
Day ZERO, to follow guidelines
What if household does not ask for ES, never identified as ES or situation changed and now are eligible for ES?
We have 3 days to screen and process for ES
What documents can be used that establishes PRIMARY applicant’s identity?
Driver’s license, social security number, birth certificate, etc. There are NO requirement for a certain kind of document needed to verify identity.
Who needs to establish identity at the start of the application process?
The primary applicant
What if there is no verifications of identity at date of application turned in?
Postpone and issue ES AND certify the case for maximum certification period allowed
If application received on the first of the month, how much aid is processed?
Full month amount
What financial benefit is processed if application received on or before the 15th?
Issue the first month’s prorated rate only
What if the application is received AFTER the 15th of the month?
Issue the current month’s prorated AND next month’s benefits. (Both given at SAME time and make sure to explain to customer)
