A
Within 12 hours: fundus can rise to 1 cm above umbilicus
Fundus descends 1-2 cm every 24 hours

Returns to nonpregnant location by 6 weeks after birth

Lochia rubra: dark red, immediately after birth
Lochia serosa: pale pink or brown after 3-4 days
Lochia alba: yellow to white after about 10-14 days
