Acute abdomen
Condition of sudden onset pain within the abdomen, usually indicating peritonitis
Bladder infection
Bacteria in the bladder, can cause fever and hcills
Ectopic Pregnancy
A condition in which the fertilized egg attaches outside of the uterus
Guarding
An involuntary action in which the abdomen becomes rigid upon examination
Hematemesis
Vomit that contains blood
Jaundice
Dull yellow color of the ski, whites of the eyes, and mucous membranes caused by an excess of billirubin. Indicative of liver disease
Melana
Stools that appear black and tarry due to digested blood in the bowel
Ovarian cyst
Fluid fill sac in an ovary or on its surface
Pancreatitis
Inflamed pancreas that is very painful
peritoneum
Membrane that covers the organs of the abdomen and also line the inner wall of the abdominal cavity
Peritonitis
Inflammation of the peritoneum .
Typically caused by leakage of hollow organ contents. Will be worse if caused by bacteria
referred pain
Pain that originates in one part of the body but is felt in another.
