Gross Negligence
An intentional failure to perform a manifest duty in reckless disregard of the consequences as affecting the life or property of another. It also implies a thoughtless disregard of the consequences without the exertion of any effort to avoid them.

A law requiring that medical personnel who are compensated for the services they provide maintain patient confidentiality during the electronic transmission of medical records
Implied Consent
A form of consent that is not expressly granted by a person, but instead is inferred from a person’s actions and the facts and circumstances of a particular situation
Informed Consent
Consent a person gives based on an appreciation and understanding of the facts, implications, and possible future consequences of an action
