1
Q

antecedent control procedures

A
  • a procedure in which antecedents are manipulated to influence the TB
  • may involve manipulating a SD or cues, establishing operations, or response effort for the target bheaviour or alternative behaviours

Q

functional interventions

A
  • interventions (extinction, differential reinforcement, and antecedent control) that decrease problem behaviours without the use of punishment’s by modifying the antecedents and consequences that control the behaviours
  • does not rely on the use of punsihemnt
    • shoudl always be the first treatment utilized in treating/ decreasing behaviour

Q

presenting SD or cues for the Desired behaviour

A
  • one reason desirable behaviour may not occur often is because SD for the behaviour are not present in the persons environment
  • by presenting SD or cues, you set up the right condition for the behaviour to occur

Q

arrange EO for desirable behaviour

A
  • an EO is an environmental event or biological condition that increases the value of a stimulus as a reinforcer
  • *behaviour is more likely to occur

Q

decreasing response effort for the desirable behaviour

A
  • behaviour that requires less effort are more likely to occur than other behaviours that require more effort, if both result in fairly equal reinforcers.

7
Q

antecedent maipulation that makes undesirable competing response less likely

A
  • removing SD or cues for competing behaviours
  • presenting AO for the outcome for competing behaviours
  • increasing response effort for the competing behaivours (if competing behaviour require MORE effort you will prolly not do it lol)

Q

noncontingent reinforcement (NCR)

A
  • a form of antecedent intervention in which stimuli that are known reinforcers are delivered on a schedule independent of behaviour- not dependent on responses
