Niche

Competition

Host

Mutualism
A relationship between two organisms that involves one organism living in or on another organism and deriving nourishment from it.
Parasitism
A relationship between two organism that involves the capturing, killing, and eating of one by the other.
Predation
An organism captured, killed, and eaten by a predator.
Prey
An organism that carried a disease or parasite from one host to the next.
Vector
The accumulation of a compound in increasing concentrations in organisms at successfully higher trophic levels.
Biological Amplification
Describe the results of biological amplification of toxic substances such as PCBs and heavy metals.
They cause unanticipated changes in communities.
