Chapter 154 Cardiogenic shock Flashcards
What are the hallmarks for cardigenic shock?
CHF and hypotension
For a patient in cardiogenic shock with hypotension which drug could be useful: a vasodilator or glucagon?
Vasodilator is contraindicated is hypotension is present. Glucagon has an inotropic effect on the heart and can be helpful to increase heart contractility and cardiac output.
What does sepsis induced cardiomyopathy look like on TFAST?
Like DCM. Decreased ejection fraction and dilated left ventricle. Can be seen with severe disease suck as sepsis and neoplasia.
What are the treatment for patients with sepsis-induced cardiomyopathy?
Vasopressor, fluid resuscitation, and infectious control.
What are treatment for tachycardia arrhythmias?
Vagal manouver, beta blocker, Ca channel blocker
Treatment for high degree 2nd AV block and 3rd degree AV block?
Atropine test, pacemaker is unresponsive.
What are the forms of circulatory shock?
SHOC(K). (distributive, hypovolemic, obstructive, cardiogenic).
