A
Due to hydrogen bonding between water molecules so takes a lot of energy to increase temperature

A
When water turns to ice, hydrogen bonds form which fix the positions of the polar molecules slightly further apart than the average distance in a liquid state

Why is water described as cohesive and adhesive
A
As molecules are attracted to each other so moves as one mass and is also attracted to other polar molecules

What are some uses of water
A
- solvent in which many solutes can be dissolved
- medium for chemical reactions
- transport medium

- provide constant environment
