Cervial Region Flashcards
What is the function of the carotid sinus?
Baroreceptor that reacts to changes in arterial BP
What are the four subdivisions (triangles) of the anterior cervical region?
Submental triangle, submandibular triangle, carotid triangle, and muscular triangle
What is the function of the carotid body?
Chemoreceptor that monitors the level of oxygen in the blood
