what is the centre of mass?
A
mathematical point around which the mass of a body or object is evenly distributed, it is the axis for all free airborne rotations of the body or object

what is centre of mass effected by?
A
density of the body or object and also by the shape, will vary on your height, age, weight, and gender

where does the centre of mass lie?
A
doesn’t necessarily lie within the body or object, sometimes it may be acting outside the body

why is the centre of mass important?
A
it determines the stability of a stationary body - if the centre of mass is directly above the base of support then the body will be stable
it acts as the reference point when considering whole body or object translation
