A

assess apical pulse for 1 min before giving, if pulse less 60 adult take again in 1 hour. If still less 60 describe pulse to prescriber.
Assess: electrolytes, renal studies, blood studies

A

loading:
IV 8-12mcg/kg, admin 50% then give 1/4 loading dose twice, assessing clinical response
PO 10-15mcg/kg loading dose, admin 50% initially, then give 1/4 loading dose, assessing clinical response

maintenance
PO 3.4-5.1mcg/kg/day ; may ^ q2weeks
IV/IM 0.1-0.4mg, IM route not preferred
