Q

What is the Amygdala’s role?

A

Processes emotional memories by telling hippocampus it’s meaningful

linked to adrenaline and CC

Retrieves declarative memories from LTM to the STM

Q

What is the Hippocampus’s role?

A

encodes explicit memories and stores them in cerebral cortex

consolidates explicit memories with signal from amygdala to strengthen the memory

Q

What is the Cerebral Cortex’s role?

A

Stores memories to different parts of the brain (songs go to auditory cortex)

neural links are formed between memories this way, making them stronger and emotional
