Q

How does Pilar sheath acanthoma differ from trichofolliculoma?

A

Pilar sheath acanthoma similarly has a central infundibulum with follicle structures radiating from the centre, however they do not recapitulate the full hair follicle - only follicular isthmus and outer sheath (unlike trichofolliculoma)_

Q

Pathology of chondroid syringoma

A
  • prominent collagen component to stroma, but myxoid and lipocytic zones can also be found
—> large inter-anastomosing and branching tubules lined by two cell layers - columnar cells with decapitation secretion at the luminal border and cuboidal cells peripherally (this configuration has been dubbed apocrine mixed tumour)
