What was Darwins theory of evolution?
That all species of living things evolved from simple life forms that first developed over 3500 million years ago.
Why was Darwins theory only gradually accepted?

What was Lamarck’s theory?
That changes occurred to an organism in its life and these changes were then inherited
What is evolution?
The change in population over time which may result in the formation of new species, and the members are better adapted to their environment
What is natural selection?
Individuals within species show variation in features, and advantageous features help individuals live longer and reproduce, so these features get passed on.
