What are the articles of the confederation
It was a unicameral congress with no federal courts, no executive branch and no president, as well as each state had one vote in congress
What were the governments like that were under the articles
The representatives had no set terms
What power did the articles give to the congress
Send and receive ambassadors, enter into treaties raise and equip navy and maintain an army
What were the weaknesses of the articles
-They had no power to enforce taxes or collet them
-they had to borrow money from other states
-no power to regulate trade
-no power to force anyone to obey the laws

Why was there a need for a stronger government
Because there were quarrels among the states such as boundaries and taxes. Some states began to deal directly with foreign nations
