Arm Flashcards
Articulation between the humerus (trochlea) and and ulna (trochlear notch).
Humeroulnar joint.
Articulation between the humerus (capitulum) and the radius (head).
Humeroradial joint.
Articulation between the radius (head) and ulna (radial notch).
Proximal radioulnar joint.
A two-headed muscle (long and short head) located superficially in the anterior compartment of the arm.
Biceps Brachii.
What is the origin of the long head of the biceps brachii?
Supraglenoid tubercle.
What is the origin of the short head of the biceps brachii?
Coracoid process.
What is the insertion of the biceps brachii?
Radial tuberosity (radius).
What are the actions of the biceps brachii?
Flexion of the glenohumeral joint/elbow and aids in supination of the radioulnar joint.
What innervates the biceps brachii?
Musculocutaneous nerve. (C5-C7).
Located deep to the biceps brachii muscle?
Brachialis.
What is the origin of brachialis?
Humeral midshaft.
What is the insertion of brachialis?
Ulna.
What is the action of brachialis?
Flexion of the glenohumeral joint/elbow.
What innervates the brachialis?
Musculocutaneous (C5-C6) and Radial (C7) nerve.
Located adjacent to the short head of the biceps brachii muscle.
Coracobrachialis.
