AP-28 (RCP failures) Flashcards
What are the sections of AP-28 (RCP malfunctions)
- A - RCP hi or lo lube oil level
- B - RCP seal #1 failure
- C - RCP seal #2 or #3 failure
- D - loss of seal injection
- E - loss of CCW to RCP / or RCP hi temp
- F - loss of seal inj AND loss of therm barr cooling
What actions does FOP criteria for AP-28 (RCP malf) have you take?
What are the criteria that make you take actions?
1 seal outlet > 235 F
Trip reactor, implement E-0, stop affected RCP, go to step….
Seal return flow > 6 gpm and pump brng temps rising
Seal return flow > 6 gpm and seal return temps rising
Seal return flow > 8 gpm
Seal return flow < 0.8 gpm and pump brng temps rising
Seal return flow < 0.8 gpm and seal return temps rising
Any motor brng temp > 200 F
Any motor Stator temp > 300 F
CCW temp > 120 F
loss CCW to RCP motor coolers > 5 min
radial brng outlet > 225 F
loss of seal inj and thermal barier cooling
any valid seal flow or bearing temp alarm concurrent with vibration alarm
In AP-28 (RCP malfunction) what are the generic actions taken if procedure directs you to trip Rx and trip RCPs for seal #1 failure?
Trip Rx
Trip affected RCPs
Close seal #1 outlet (w/in 3-5 min)
close associated spray valve (if applicable)
AP-28
In section A (RCP Hi or Lo lube oil level) What condition meets Rx trip criteria?
- Bearing temp > 200 F
- valid RCP vibration alarm
AP-28
What does the Total #1 Seal Leakoff consist of?
If input for #2 seal leakoff flow Hi is not in …..what can we assume?
- sum of #1 and #2 seal leakoff indications
- # 2 seal leakoff is < 0.75 gpm
