ANATOMY N5 Flashcards
MITOSIS: Name stage A
Short, uncoiled chromosomes ready to begin mitosis
MITOSIS: Name stage B
Each chromosome duplicates and are made of two chromatids joined by a chromosome
MITOSIS: Name stage C
Chromosomes line up along the equator of the cell and spindle fibrs attach to each pair of chromatids
MITOSIS: Name stage D
The spindle fibres contract to pull chromatids apart to opposite poles of the cell
MITOSIS: Name stage E
The nuclear membrane will now reform around each group of chromatids and the cytoplasm divides
MITOSIS: Name stage F
2 new daughter cells are formed - both cells have the same number of chromosomes as the original cell
