Roles of aircraft in Air Power
Control Of The Air, Attack, Intelligence, Situational Awareness, and Air Mobility.
What is Height and why is it useful for Air Power?
Height is the distance above ground.
Having height can put you out of a targeting range and also help avoid detection.
What is Speed and why is it useful for Air Power?
Speed is the ability to get somewhere in a short period of time.
Having speed is useful for quick response to threats (such as our fast jets in QRA) and assists with agility and adaptability in a developing situation.
What is Reach and why is it useful for Air Power?
Reach is the ability to travel long distances or remote locations.
Air power is not impeded by natural terrain or physical barriers.
For example, the voyager is used for air to air refuelling. This gives weapons systems extra reach to carry out missions outside their usual range.
