Signs and symptoms
A
- Vomiting
- Abdominal pains
- Epigastic? RT iliac?
- Nausea
- No passing stools
- Partial passing of sto
- Distended abdomen

Acute pancreatitis
A
The inflammation of the pancreas
can be caused by;
➢ Due to descending gall stone
➢ Drug induced & alcoholism
➢ Post ERCP

CHOLECYSTITIS
A
the inflammation of the gallbladder, usually caused by gallstones blocking the ducts leading out of the gallbladder.

Perforations
A
refer to a hole or tear in a bodily organ or tissue.
Due to :
* Trauma
* peptic ulcers & neoplasm
➢ Gas escapes into the peritoneal space
➢ Can lead to peritonitis

Acute mesenteric Ischemia
A
- Due to disruption of vascular flow to the
intestines - Leads to gangrene and bowel obstruction

Bowel obstruction
A
- Blockage that prevents food or liquid from passing through the small intestine or large intestine.
caused by;
➢Hernias e.g. inguinal hernia
➢Mechanical impaction e.g. Volvulus,
intussusceptions
➢Disruption of nerve and blood supply e.g.
paralytic ileus & Hirshprungs
➢Tumors & inflammations e.g. pancreatitis
