What happens in Act 4, Scene 3?
Outside King Edward’s palace, Malcolm speaks with MD, telling him that he doesn’t trust him because he has left his family in Scotland and maybe be working for MB. To determine whether MD is trustworthy, MAlcolm rambles about his own vices - he claims to be lustful, greedy and violent. At first, MD politely disagrees with with Malcolm, but eventually becomes filled with distress for the country. This makes it apparent to Malcolm that MD is trustworthy. Malcolm that retracts his lies.
Ross enters and urges Malcolm to return home due to the woes that have befallen Scotland since MB took the crown. Malcolm says that he will return with 10000 soldiers.
Ross confesses to MD that MB has murdered his wife and children. MD is crushed with grief. MD says that he will inflict revenge upon MB.
