What happens in act 1 scene 4?

Duncan’s sun Malcolm reports the death of the Thane of Cawdor. Duncan announces his intentions to name Malcolm the heir to the throne. Macbeth knows that Malcolm stands between him and the throne. Plans are made for Duncan to have dinner in Macbeth’s castle.
