Accident + incident reporting Flashcards
What should we record?
date, time + location
name + job of casualty as well as details of their injury/illness + was first aid was given
what happening to the person immediately afterwards (e.g went back to work)
name + signature of person reporting the incident
this must be kept in accordance with the data protection act 1998
Assess the situation quickly + calmly
Safety: are you or are they in danger? is it safe for you to go up to them?
Scene: what caused the accident? how many casualties are there?
Situation: what has happened? how many people are involved + how old are they? what do you think the main injuries could be?
Assess the casualty
If there is more than one, help those with life threatening conditions first
start with primary survey + then move onto the secondary survey
