accessory of the trunk/ functional anatomy Flashcards
thorcaolumbar fascia
3 layers
posterior- covers back muscles- spinous process of lateral vert
middle- quadratus lumborum is in front- tp of lat vert
deep- psoas major in front- vert body
attach to transverse abdominals
muscles contract- tightens and pulls on vert making them stiff providing stability
retinaculum for back muscles
attachment for muscles
stability in lumbar transmit force to lower
lumbopelvic stability
posteriorlateral wall- quadratus lumborum, psoas major
anteriorlateral wall- abdominal muscles
pelvic floor
- co-contraction will stiffen trunk
- intraabdominal pressure- increase spine stiffness
- thoracolumbar fascia- tension here increase intrabdominal pressure
pelvic drop
hip abducts
ipisilateral glute medius
ipisilateral glute min
contralateral hip adductors
contralateral eo/ io
concentric
opposite side will eccentric
pelvic lift
contrlateral- glute medius
contralateral glute min
ipisilateral hip adductors
ipsilateral eo/ io
anterior pelvic tilt
increase lumbar lordosis
erector spinae
hip flexors
posterior pelvic tilt
hip extenders
abdominals
rotation of the pelvis to the right
L- hip lateral rotators
R- hip medial rotators
L- IO
R- EO
