  • security tenure , can’t be removed from office unless petition to Queen pass both houses of Parliament
  • guaranteed salary
  • supreme Court settles point of law of national importance and inferior courts deal with local cases eg fixed penalty notices
  • deal with all type of offenders except minor which are deal with in magistrates
