7.4 Flashcards
What is the correct order for aerobic respiration?
Glycolysis, link reaction, kreb Cycle, electron transport chain
what is the difference between aerobic and anaerobic respiration?
aerobic occurs in the presence of oxygen while anaerobic does not need oxygen present.
What are the two types of fermentation?
alcoholic and lactic acid
what molecule transports the electrons during the early stages of aerobic respiration?
NADH and FADH2
what does glycolysis break glucose into?
pyruvates.
How does the ETC make ATP?
It uses electrons to get the hydrogen through the inner membrane, then uses the hydrogen to go through the ATP Synthase, which makes ATP
What is the name for the part of the cell that is not the inner membrane
the matrix
about how much ATP is produced in an aerobic respiration reaction
30-34
what the difference between lactic acid and alcohol
alcohol produces ethanol and CO2, while lactic acid produces itself.
where does glycolysis occur
cytoplasm
why does a membrane with folds produce more ATP than a membrane with no folds?
the folds create more surface area which creates more ATP
