What is a producer?
A producer is an organism, typically a plant, that provides energy for those who eat it.
What is a primary consumer?
A primary consumer is an organism that only eats the producer.
What is a secondary consumer?
A secondary consumer dines on the primary consumer, and sometimes the producer.W
What is a tertiary consumer?
A tertiary consumer typically dines on the secondary consumer, and sometimes the primary consumer.
What is a quaternry consumer?
A quaternry consumer can dine on everything in the food web, and is at the top.
What is an autotroph?
An autotroph is an organism that produces/creates its own food. Ex. plants.
What is a heterotroph?
A heterotroph is an animal that cannot make it’s own food, and must dine on other animals or organisms.
What is a herbivore?
An herbivore dines on only plants.
What is a carnivore?
A carnivore is an animal that only dines on other animals.
What is an omnivore?
An omnivore is an animal that dines on both plants and animals.
What is a detrivore?
A detrivore dines on dead animals or plants.
