Mount Position Control
Position: Mount
Slice 1: Hips and Hands
Indication: You are in Mount and Op tries to push you to the sides.
Your weight should be centered on your hips.
Two hooks in.
When Op rolls left, your left arm posts out and your right arm slides behind Op’s neck.
When Op rolls right, you right arm posts out and your left arm slides behind Op’s neck.
Mount Position Control
Position: Mount
Slice 2: Anchor and Base
Indication: You are in Mount and Op tries to push you to the sides. What do you do with your legs?
Leg opposite of posting hand hooks in and the posting side knee opens up.
Light knees and heavy hips ensures quick transitions.
Hooks switch before hands.
Mount Position Control
Position: Mount
Slice 3: Low Swim
Indication: Op tries to wrap your posting arm.
Hold posting arm straight at a 45 degree angle (not straight to the side).
Keep elbow high and swim arm around Op’s arm. THis should allow you to land in the same place.
Vary delays before swimming to avoid being predictable.
Mount Position Control
Position: Mount
Slice 4: High Swim
Indication: A strong opponent tries to push you straight up.
Hooks come out and you move your knees out wide to maintain balance.
Unweight one shoulder by rotating your torso and swim your arm around Op’s arm. Land your hand next to Op’s head.
Unweight and swim second arm through.
Drop back to low Mount and hooks back in.
