Triangle Choke
Slice 1: Final Position
Position: You are in Guard and have established to position to move to the Triangle Choke.
Indication: You have Op’s head and one arm in between your legs. How do you perform the choke?
Cross your feet with Op’s head and one arm between your legs.
Op’s arm gets passed across your body and held.
Your other arm cups the back of Op’s head and hold it down.
Move your hips up to Op’s shoulder level by placing your leg that isn’t on Op’s shoulder with your foot on Op’s hips and scoot north.
Turn your top leg (and your hips) and bite Op’s neck with your wrapped knee.
Hand that was on Op’s neck switches to pulling down on your ankle.
Your other foot moves from Op’s hip to having your knee wrapped around your wrapped ankle.
Squeeze your thighs.
Pull Op’s head down again with your freed up hand.
Hips up.
Triangle Choke
Slice 2: Punch Block 1.5
Position: You are in Guard and have reached Punch Block stage 1.5
Indication: You have Op in stage 1.5 of the punch block series and you need to get to the Triangle Choke entry.
You have blocked one of Op’s arms trapped behind a knee and hooked down with a spoon grip.
You are holding Op’s head down with your other hand.
Push Op’s arm back with your knee and slide your hand down to Op’s wrist.
Pass your foot up through by pushing Op’s wrist away.
Or…
Push Op’s wrist away and straighten you leg and swing it around and towards Op back. Release Op’s grip at the last second to clear the way.
Triangle Choke
Slice 3: Punch Block 1.5 Forced.
Position: You are in Guard and have reached Punch Block stage 1.
Indication: You have Op in stage 1 of the Punch Block Series and I need to get Op into stage 1.5 for the Triangle Choke entry.
One elbow on top of Op’s arm to prevent punches.
Your other arm hugs Op’s neck.
Your head off the ground. Close or touching Op’s Head.
Post one leg and shrimp your hips out from under Op.
This should allow you slide your knee in front of Op’s arm.
Shrimp back in to achieve PB 1.5.
Triangle Choke
Slice 4: Giant Killer.
Position: You are in Guard. Your Op is much larger and/or stronger.
Indication: Op is leaning forward and squashing you with so much size and weight that PB 1.5 isn’t available.
Guard. Op held close,
Use closed guard to push Op south. High grab with legs. Squeeze. Extend.
Shove Op’s head to one side with both hands.
Opposite leg posts, and you shrimp out. Land with the down leg on Op’s hip.
Move posted leg to Op’s hip.
Grab Op’s arm with both hands.
Op is now shoved down enough to bring one leg up and over Op’s shoulder.
Scoot you hips till they are just above Op’s shoulders.
Turn top leg (and your hips) and bite the neck.
One hand switches to your leg.
Your other foot moves from hip to knee wrapped around your other ankle.
Pass Op’s arm across.
Squeeze thighs. Pull head. Hips up.
